Today, it’s back to Carb overload for a trip to the original Franco Manca in Brixton Market. This tiny, tiny (why are all the good pizza places so small) south London—yes, I crossed the river— gem has a massive following, and with good reason.  Chewy blackened crust gives way to a soft, yet cooked middle.

Get there before opening to snag one of the handful of seats inside, or watch others devour pizzas while you endure a long wait. You could always tailor your pizza toppings during that time.

Best Pizza in London?

The Santa Margherita from Time Out’s winner of best pizza in London, Santa Maria Pizzeria in Ealing, west London. All 16 seats at this tiny eatery were grabbed shortly after opening at noon until end of service with a line outside the entire time (though 10 more seats have since been added to help alleviate lines). Yes, this might well be the best pizza in London. Definitely requires a further visit.
